Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo leads the ranking with $88 m of income in 2016. He has had $56 m earnings in the club, while other 32 m came from advertisement. The Portuguese star is followed by his eternal rival - Lionel Messi. The Argentine striker earned $81.4 m last year, $53.4 of which came from Barcelona. The third-place occupant is LeBron James. The Cleveland Cavaliers star added $77.2 m to his bank account. The bigger share of this money came from different advertisement campaigns - $54 m. Cavaliers paid only $23.2 m to LeBron.
