Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has backed "exceptional" Everton forward Romelu Lukaku to replace Diego Costa at Chelsea should the striker leave. Atletico Madrid have confirmed that defender Juanfran suffered a Grade II muscle injury to his left thigh during their Champions League clash with Leicester City. Barcelona will wait before deciding whether to re-sign Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu, according to the club’s sporting director Robert Fernandez. Deulofeu has revived his career on loan at Milan and that has prompted interest from Barcelona, who inserted a €12m buyback clause into the deal that took him to Everton in 2015. Fernandez is impressed by the forward’s form at Milan and admits Barca are weighing up the possibility of bringing him back to Catalonia. Speaking to Premium Sport, he said: “We have the possibility of re-signing him, in summer we will assess everything calmly, the most important thing is that he is playing well and that he maintains his level. At the [right] time we will take the correct decision.”
