Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Crystal Palace do not have an option to sign Mamadou Sakho at the end of his loan spell. Impressed with his performances, Palace are understood to be keen to make Sakho’s deal permanent, but Klopp insists there is no deal in place. “There is no clause in the loan contract,” he is quoted by the Liverpool Echo. As such, Napoli are planning to cash in on the defender this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer - and he has no shortage of suitors. The Spanish capital club could snap him up for a fee of around €20m, but only if their FIFA-imposed transfer sanction is lifted this summer.

Juventus have joined the race for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. While England has been mooted as the most likely destination for the Colombian international this summer, he came closest to leaving Madrid for Italy in January. The 25-year-old confirmed that Inter Milan had met his asking price, but he refused to leave. Nonetheless, James' situation at Real hasn't improved and his agent, Jorge Mendes, is now circulating his name across Europe. Juventus have responded positively to Mendes' approach and are prepared to explore a deal. However, any move to Serie A for James will rest on Real dropping their current €80 million asking price.
