Barcelona eye Tottenham defender

Barcelona are eyeing Tottenham fullback Kyle Walker. According to The London Evening Standard, the La Liga titleholders could be about to launch a sensational bid for Tottenham's Walker. Barca head coach Luis Enrique's side failed to replace Dani Alves in the summer and are now searching for a new right-back, with Walker top of the list. The England international defender has had an excellent season at the London club, with his rampaging runs forward helping him to five Premier League assists. Nonetheless, Walker signed a new £70,000-a-week deal with Tottenham last year and will not come cheap, accoridng to The Sun.

Didier Drogba not rule out seeing Romelu Lukaku back at Stamford Bridge

Didier Drogba says Chelsea fans should not rule out seeing Romelu Lukaku back at Stamford Bridge next season. And the former Chelsea striker says he knows what Lukaku - who he calls his "little brother" from their time together in west London - will do this summer. The Everton striker, who has scored 24 Premier League goals this season, has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park and recently said he would not sign a new deal - although his agent, Mino Raiola had previously said a deal was '99.9 per cent' done. "If he comes to Chelsea it will be great for the club," he told Gary Cotterill. "He knows the house already and I think he wants to prove he can be successful here, he didn't get the chance to do it. "Chelsea is his club since he was young, so why not? He wants to be the best. He's really working hard to become the best."

Man Utd reluctant to sell De Gea

Manchester United are reluctant to sell David De Gea to Real Madrid this summer, and would insist on a star player like Toni Kroos to go the other way if the goalkeeper has to go, according to the Independent. According to the report, United have already investigated potential replacements such as Inter Milan's Samir Handanovic and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, although it is understood De Gea is not yet certain about what he wants to do. Note that the 26-year-old goalkeeper has made 39 appearances during this season.

Lewandowski to miss Real Madrid clash

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will miss UEFA Champions League quarterfinals first-leg against Real Madrid, the Bild informs. According to the source, the 28-year-old was not able to recover in the time frame after picking up shoulder injury in Dortmund match (4-1). During the yesterday's training session the Polish international had only a 20-minute session with the group. Carlo Ancelotti has previously announced that Lewandowski participation decision will be made on match day, and it seems he decided to keep him off risk. The striker most probably will recover for the second leg on April 18. Robert Lewandowski has played in eight UEFA Champions League games in the current season, having scored seven goals and assisted once.  

Alonso to race at Indy 500 missing Monaco Grand Prix

McLaren-Honda Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso will participate in Indianapolis 500, and as a result, miss the Monaco Grand Prix. Indy 500 will take place on May 28th, which overlaps with Monaco Grand Prix. This will be the only Formula 1 competition of 2017 that Alonso will miss. Moreover, Indy 500 is the single 2017 IndyCar race the driver will not miss. Fernando Alonso's car engine will be a Honda 2.2-litre twin-turbo V6, limited by IndyCar regulations to 12,000rpm. McLaren-Honda will soon announce the the driver that will be racing in Alonso's Formula 1 car in Monaco Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso has won 32 Grand Prix races and has Formula 1 champion title in his active.

Islamist detained as Dortmund explosion suspect

Dortmund police detained a suspect, as Tuesday's explosion near to Borussia Dortmund bus has been linked to the Islamist terrorism. Germany's federal state prosecutor spokesman Frauke Koehler commented on the matter. "Two suspects from the Islamist spectrum have become the focus of our investigation. Both of their apartments were searched, and one of the two has been detained," Koehler announced. Important to note that two letters were found near the explosion spot, which have become main evidence in the investigation. Sevilla publish Sampaoli interest warning

Sevilla published an official statement regarding the rumors of their manager Jorge Sampaoli being close on heading Argentina national team. It has been previously reported that Argentina Football Association (AFA) will be meeting with the coach to discuss terms of a possible contract. "In response to various reports in local and international media outlets about the potential interest of the Argentine football association (AFA) to sign Jorge Sampaoli – who has a contract with Sevilla until 30 June 2018 – and in the wake of quotes attributed to AFA president Claudio Tapia that he intends to meet with Sampaoli in the upcoming days, Sevilla have sent a letter to AFA to make it clear the club would consider it a lack of respect if there is any truth in those reports, while stressing any meeting or contact with the intention of convincing Sampaoli to end his contract with this club would be unacceptable and that the club will not hesitate to take action," the official statement reads.
