BREAKING: Borussia Dortmund team bus caught up in explosion
Borussia Dortmund's team bus has been caught up in an explosion ahead of their Champions League meeting with AS Monaco. According to multiple reports, Spanish fullback Marc Bartra was injured in the blast and taken to hospital as a result. Local police and Dortmund's official Twitter account have confirmed the news, noting that the explosion occurred at the team hotel. A translated Tweet read: "Bomb explosion on the team bus at the team hotel. Player in security. No danger in the and at the stadium. More information to follow." The Blid claim that the incident occurred approximately 10 kilometres from the stadium, with the blast shattering the vehicle's windows. This evening's match is said to be in "serious doubt".
Michael Carrick rule out Newcastle move
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick says he will likely retire from football when he leaves Old Trafford, ruling out a switch to his boyhood club Newcastle. “No, I think that’s (playing for Newcastle) passed now," he told MOTD magazine. "When I was a kid I was supporting Newcastle, I dreamt one day I would do but I count myself very fortunate to have played for Manchester United for so long. It’s just one of those things where you can’t have everything. If and when I finish here (Manchester United), that will probably be it I think."
Osasuna goalkeeper on Bayern radar
Osasuna goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu is interesting Bayern Munich. The Italian is on-loan at Osasuna from PSG, where he is prepared to leave permanently this summer. According to Kicker, The Bundesliga titleholders see Sirigu as a replacement for Manuel Neuer's current backup, Sven Ulreich. Bayern head coach Carlo Ancelotti signed Sirigu for PSG and had him as their No1 during his time in charge.
Espanyol want to sign Bojan Krkic
La Liga club Espanyol are interested in signing Stoke City forward Bojan Krkic, according to Cadena Cope. The 26-year-old Bojan is currently on loan at Bundesliga side Mainz 05. Nonetheless, it is believed the Spaniard is not the top name on Espanyol’s shortlist as Real Madrid striker Mariano is reportedly their main attacking target. Note that Krkic has made 19 appearances during this season, scoring 4 goals.

Representatives for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are turning up the heat on Real Madrid. The La Liga club are regarded as favourites to sign the Borussia Dortmund star this summer. Nevertheless, for the moment, The 27-year-old forward's camp are yet to field any formal approach and have decided to look elsewhere. According to Don Balon, the striker has been offered to Barca in recent days - with the support of the player, himself. The Gabon international would be happy to sign for the La Liga titleholders, though there is also hope the move will kick Real into action.
Aaron Ramsey happy to work with Arsene Wenger
Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal's players are 'delighted' to play for Arsene Wenger, as the manager continues to attract speculation over his future. "The manager hasn't said anything about it. He's our manager and we're delighted to play for him," Ramsey said. "He's been brilliant for us so hopefully we can repay him by finishing off this season strongly and hopefully win something for him. "As players, we haven't really discussed it, we just want to go out there and try to win the game so we're focused and trying to work hard throughout the week to put it right at the weekend. "We're professional footballers so we have to go out there and perform as best we can and try and get the results that we want. There's a lot of things going on at the moment but we have to turn a blind eye to that and concentrate on what we are here to do."

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has quizzed his international team-mates on life at Chelsea and Manchester United, reports AS. According to the Spanish newspaper, the full-back has consulted various ex-team-mates about life in England in case he leaves Barca. Alba has reportedly asked Cesc Fabregas and Pedro about life at Chelsea, while Alba has also asked several unnamed Manchester United players about the Old Trafford club.
Claudio Ranieri reveals how he chose to sign Kante
Former Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri revealed he had the choice of signing either N’Golo Kante or Jordy Clasie before the start of the Foxes’ title-winning season. Ranieri and Leicester, with the help of assistant manager Steve Walsh, went for Kante, who is favourite to win the PFA Player of the Year award with Chelsea, while Clasie eventually signed for Southampton from Feyenoord. “In the end we had Kante and Clasie. Steve Walsh told me these two names,” Ranieri said on Monday Night Football. "I watched Kante two or three times, and said Kante. “At the start I put him on the left wing! Slowly I started with him there, but after I put him the middle. How can I not put him in the team?"
Paulinho to return to European football
Bayern Munich could make a surprise move in the summer transfer window by signing former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho, according to RMC Sport. The Brazil international left Spurs in 2015 to join Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande, where he still plays. The 28-year-old could be brought in as a potential replacement for centre midfielder Xabi Alonso, who recently announced he will retire at the end of this season.
Huntelaar to leave Schalke
Veteran Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar says he is leaving Bundesliga club Schalke at the end of the season. "Things aren't going the way I would want them to at Schalke. So this is my last year at Schalke," Huntelaar told Dutch newspaper Telegraaf. Reports have linked him with a return to Ajax, who Schalke play in the Europa League quarter-finals. Note that the 33-year old has scored 4 goals in 18 appearances during this season for the Bundesliga club.
