Ter Stegen can’t shut down Manchester City talk

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen can't shut down talk of interest from Manchester City. Ex-Barca head coach Pep Guardiola apparently chased the German international last year and is set to renew his interest in the summer. Asked about City's interest and if he sees himself staying at Barca for several more years, the goalkeeper said: "I don't know." "I try to do the best for me and for the team. Give my best and improve. You never know what comes after," said Ter Stegen, who is in talks over a new deal at the Camp Nou. I live in the moment, that is what is most important. I am happy here with my colleagues and friends and I hope to win many more trophies, that is the goal."  

Theo Hernandez could leave Atletico Madrid

Theo Hernandez won't rule out a move away from Atletico Madrid. On-loan with Alaves, the defender has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester City, along with Real Madrid. “It's true that there were teams that wanted me but I thought about it well and the best thing was to stay," he told AS. “Could an Atletico player say yes to Real Madrid? I don't know. If it's the best thing for him, to go there, it could be that he has to go. It depends on each one."  

Guardiola is being tipped to spend big this summer

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola is being tipped to spend big this summer. Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes the 46-year-old specialist already knows who he is going to sign in the summer transfer window, and will revamp the defence. "He already knows what he's going to do in the summer," Neville told Sky Sports. "I've no doubt he'll drive a bus through that back five. He needs three or four new defenders, a new goalkeeper, one or two midfield players and maybe a centre-forward. I think he knows exactly what he's going to do."  

Arsenal midfielder on Besiktas radar

Besiktas are eyeing Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil. According to The Sun, Ozil, Cesc Fabregas and Radamel Falcao are all being eyed by Besiktas as the Turkish giants plan stunning summer raid. Aksam says Fabregas is the No1 target – but Arsenal star Ozil, linked with a summer move away from the London club, and Monaco striker Falcao is also potential signings. “I will get a name that 'will not' come to Turkey. It will be called impossible. This star will be Besiktas' brand face in Europe," club president Orman said.

Besiktas eye Chelsea midfielder

Besiktas are chasing Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas. According to The Sun, the London club midfielder is being eyed by Besiktas as the Turkish giants plan stunning summer raid. Besiktas president Fikret Orman is reportedly in London to hold talks with the 29-year-old – who has enjoyed a resurgent 2016/17 sezon. The Turkish club president Orman said: “I will get a name that 'will not' come to Turkey. It will be called impossible. This star will be Besiktas' brand face in Europe."

Liverpool defender is ready to pen new terms

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is ready to pen new terms. The Croatian international fullback Lovren's current contract expires at the end of the 2018/19 campaign but he insists he will extend his agreement past then. "Progress on the contract is going on and I'd say that hopefully everything will be clear in the next month," Lovren told the Liverpool Echo. “Like I've said many times about my future, I'm really happy here. I'm settled after everything that happened in the beginning. I just want to improve every day here, show my quality and give my best for the club."  

Rakitic insults Granada player Pereira

Barcelona playmaker Ivan Rakitic insulted Granada midfielder Andreas Pereira. Spanish TV program Golazo de Gol noticed the episode in the Granada vs Barcelona (1-4) game, where the Croatian international insulted Andreas Pereira. "To second division, son of a b****, you are going down," said Rakitic to the opponent after being booked for a tackle against him. Let's recall that Granada are currently occupying the 19th position in Spanish La Liga table with 19 points accumulated in 29 matches. They lack eight points for the safe zone, as nine more games are awaiting until the end of the season.

Everton plan to sign Spurs defender

Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to see Kieran Trippier at Goodison Park and is eyeing a £12m deal. The right-back is set to replace the injured Seamus Coleman, who had career-threatening double leg break on international duty. The 26-year-old has made just nine appearances for Tottenham this season. He is considered to be the long term replacement for Kyle Walker, however lack of playing time can lure away the Englishman to Merseyside.

Diego Costa hopes to knock Manchester City out of the title race in a “six-point affair”

Chelsea had a surprise loss at Stamford Bridge against Crystal Palace. That result gave fresh breath to the title race, as the gap between the 1st and 2nd place narrowed down to seven points. The upcoming fixture against Pep Guardiola's Man City could be decisive for the rest of the campaign. Chelsea striker Diego Costa thinks the victory against Manchester City in “a six-point affair” on Wednesday could be the reason for the Citizens to drop out of the title race. "After a loss at home and with a rival closing the gap the importance of the game only grows," Costa is quoted as saying by ESPN Brasil. “We know this game against Manchester City will be a six-point affair since if we win the game they will [practically] be out of the title race while we keep the advantage. "It also depends on the match between Tottenham and Swansea. In any case, we will do our best. “We hope that the next game the ball will go in, and that we do a better job at handling these counter-attacking plays so we do not suffer from early goals again, and thus avoid what happened [against Palace]."

Nainggolan compares Totti to Federer

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan compared his teammate Francesco Totti to tennis player Roger Federer. The Swiss tennis star defeated Rafael Nadal in Miami Open final at the age of 35. "Federer is exceptional," the Belgian told Supertennis. "But we have Totti who still plays at fourty and for Roma, he's just as valuable as Federer. "My four favorite players in general are, however, [Lionel] Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and [Eden] Hazard," the midfielder added. Radja Nainggolan and Francesco Totti have played in Roma since 2014. The 40-year-old Italian has featured in 21 matches in all competitions of the current season, having scored three goals and assisted seven times.
