Andreas Christensen will return to Chelsea
Highly-rated defender Andreas Christensen will return to Chelsea at the conclusion of his two-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach this summer. The Denmark international is expected to compete for a place in Antonio Conte's starting XI next season after impressing in Germany, according to The Sun. Gladbach had been keen to sign Christensen permanently after he was named their Player of the Season last year. Christensen has made 33 appearances during this season.
Sergi Samper wants to play at Barcelona
Arsenal target Sergi Samper insists he wants to play at Barcelona next season after revealing that he rejected offers from elsewhere. Samper, 22, is currently on a season-long loan at GranadA. The midfielder, who came through the ranks at the Nou Camp, was reportedly the subject of interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and PSG last summer before he made his loan switch. Speaking to Esports Cope, he said: “What I want is to stay at Barca, it’s my dream since childhood, I have rejected offers because I wanted to be at Barca and my goal is to reach the first-team squad. “It’s impossible not to think about Barca when I saw that Sergio Busquets could not play some matches. I am a big Barcelona fan and what I want is to play at Barca.”
Man Utd eye Bayern defender
Manchester United have approached Bayern Munich about signing defender Joshua Kimmich, according to The Sun. Citing reports in Kicker, they claim Kimmich, who can also play in midfield, has been identified by Jose Mourinho as the man to bring out the best in Paul Pogba. But they face competition from Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola, who gave Kimmich his start at the Allianz Area. Note that Kimmich has made 31 appearances during this season.
Llorente keen to extend Alaves loan
Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente would be happen to extend his loan with Alaves. The 22-year-old midfielder is on a season-long deal with Alaves. "It is not easy to go from Segunda B to playing in LaLiga so I'll always appreciate the great opportunity that Alaves have given me," Llorente told reporters. "At the end of the season, I will analyse what the best option is for me and if I have to stay at Alaves for another year, then I would be happy and delighted to do that. No calls would be needed."
Pochettino: “Harry Kane will play again this season”
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino says Harry Kane will play again this season. "We do not know yet, he is doing well and he has started working again on the pitch. We are very positive, he is very positive, but we will see when he is available again," he said. Asked if Kane will play again this season, Poch added: "Yes, of course, of course. He is doing very well, he is very positive. We believe that he can be available not so long in time. But I cannot provide the time he still needs to be available again, but I think it is not too long." Pochettino's second-placed Spurs head to 13th-placed Burnley this weekend.
Eden Hazard and John Terry set to sign new deals
Chelsea will offer a new contract for their star Eden Hazard, to keep off Real Madrid. According to TalkSport Chelsea's legendary captain, John Terry, will also sign a new deal to stay for one more season at Stamford Bridge. The Belgian's new deal includes a £300,000-a-week salary and the contract is set to expire in 2020. Antonio Conte and the board plan to strengthen the squad even more in order to have a chance to once again compete strongly in the Champions League. One of the targets is Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, who previously announced that he want to be 'at a winning club' sparking rumours of his departure from Arsenal.
Jurgen Klopp: ‘I am a genius in understanding derbies’
The Merseyside derby is approaching, as Liverpool will host Everton at Anfield this Saturday. The Reds must win the derby to guarantee Champions League football for the next season, while the Toffees need every point they can get to climb up the Premier League table and maybe reach their local rivals. At the moment 6 points and 3 places divide the two sides. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes the atmosphere at derbies is truly special. He told reporters: "I am not skilled in many parts of life but maybe I am a genius in understanding derbies because I didn't need a second to understand this. "The world stops for 90 minutes in a city. Football is not the most important thing in the world but in a few moments we love to think it is. "There are not too many other cities around the world with two clubs of this size and importance. These are the games you look forward to. "[We need to] be aggressive, but not too aggressive and fight for everything to try to make our supporters happy." "They [Everton] have a really good team," he added. "[They] made good transfers in the summer and winter. They didn't have a fantastic start to the season, but now they are absolutely back on track. They are close to where they want to be.
Arsene Wenger: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil want to stay
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes the pair of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil want to stay with the Gunners. Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move to Juventus or Chelsea, as Arsenal fails to deliver this season, and Mesut Ozil was reported to have interest in returning to Germany. Sevilla sporting director to take up job at Roma
Much of Sevilla's success in recent years was due to Monchi - the sporting director who alongside the manager was behind the team selection that led to three successive Europa League wins for The White and Reds. According to Mediaset, Monchi is set to take the same role at Roma and reportedly wants to see Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino in the Roman club. Other Choices include PSG boss Unai Emery, who worked as Sevilla manager under Monchi and current Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli. Under Monchi Sevilla signed the likes of Dani Alves, Ivan Rakitic, Fredi Kanoute, Kevin Gameiro and many others, which made him one of the most wanted sporting directors on today's market.
Toni Kroos pranks Manuel Neuer
Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos to pranked his international teammate Manuel Neuer about the latter's recovery via his official Twitter account. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper posted a tweet updating on his injury recovery trends. "Yesterday, after training we have done a small surgery on my leg. Everything went just right.
